Pine Island Marina has been serving the Groton boating community for over 50 years. We are currently seeking an experienced, reliable, and hardworking Marine Yard Worker to join our growing team. Location: Groton, CT
Job Type: Full-time (8-hour shift, Day shift)
Pay Range: $20.00 – $50.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Reports to: Service Manager

The Role:
As a Marine Yard Worker, you will be a vital part of our daily operations, ensuring boats are safely handled, maintained, and prepared for our customers. This is a hands-on, active role that requires physical fitness and a strong understanding of marina operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely handle and transport boats around the yard.
• Execute foundational yard tasks including bottom sanding and painting, shrink-wrapping, and compound/waxing of hulls and superstructures.
• Secure vessels using proper nautical knots and line handling techniques.
• Assist with light mechanical duties as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Bonus: Safely operate marina equipment, including travel lifts, forklifts, cranes, and hydraulic trailers.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 1 to 3 years of previous experience in the marine industry as a yard crew member or similar role (Required).
• Skills: Ability to tie proper nautical knots, follow detailed instructions, and work collaboratively as a team player.
• Physical Ability: Must be fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working actively outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer Service: A personable attitude with the willingness to interact professionally and courteously with marina patrons.
• Licensing: Valid Driver’s License (Required).
